Internship Opportunities

JCUA's commitment to social and economic justice plays out through its work with communities throughout the Chicago area. JCUA serves as an organizational expression of the Jewish ethical tradition that holds that the fate of one person is inextricably entwined with the fate of all. As it says in the Talmud: Whosoever Saves One Life Saves The World Entire.

Internships are available in three areas:

Outreach:

  • Plan programs that involve synagogues in JCUA’s social justice/advocacy work

  • Assist with JCUA’s youth organizing initiative, which involves Chicagoland teenagers in Jewish social justice work

  • Work with JCUA’s outreach staff to assist in education and mobilizing the Jewish Community on issues of social and economic justice

  • Create educational materials on Judaism and social justice

  • Advocacy and Policy

  • Research and report on policy issues such as race relations, national health care, affordable housing, and the federal budget

  • Develop legislative and administrative campaigns

  • Analyze current state and federal legislation

  • Communications and Media Relations

  • Develop news releases and media advisories

  • Conduct interviews for JCUA publications
  • Write newsletter articles and promotional copy

  • Development/Fundraising

  • Research grants and other funding opportunities
  • Work on special events
